Welcome Teams – Goodby Alcatel
The replacement of the outdated cantonal telephone system, including all telephones, will be implemented in stages for employees of the University and the ZHB from mid-2023. From then on, all employees will be able to use their existing telephone number to make calls directly with Microsoft Teams on their notebook or desktop PC, regardless of location, e.g. in the home office. Special workplaces, such as information desks at the university and the ZHB with impersonal numbers or lecture halls 1, 9 and 10, will be supplemented with Microsoft Teams-based telephones.
When will Teams Phone be rolled out?
Teams Phone will be coordinated and rolled out in a staggered manner in consultation with the faculties and departments. In some cases, technical dependencies still have to be considered. As a result, it will not always be possible to meet everyone's wishes and needs in terms of sequence and timing, for which we ask for your understanding.
Support and training
Training all 750 employees of the university and ZHB in the traditional format with classroom training is no longer practical today. To support our employees, we therefore rely on a mix of "learning on demand" as well as a central, web-based presence with information, instructions and help on Microsoft Teams and M365.
