The CampusCard in credit card format is issued to students (as a student ID card) and employees (as an identity card).
CampusCard Terms of Use
Duty of care
The CampusCard of the University of Lucerne is non-transferable and for personal use only. It may not be passed on to third parties.
The cardholder undertakes to store the CampusCard carefully and to use it only for its intended purpose. He/she is liable for any damage caused by a lack of care or improper use of the CampusCard.
Loss of the card
The loss of the card must be reported immediately to Student Services (students) or Human Resources (employees). A processing fee of CHF 30.00 will be charged for a replacement card. The University of Lucerne accepts no liability for money loaded onto the card.

Expiry of the card when leaving the University of Lucerne
Die CampusCard kann auch nach dem Austritt aus der Universität Luzern weiterhin als Bibliotheksausweis bei der ZHB eingesetzt werden. Auf der CampusCard noch vorhandene Geldbeträge können weiterhin für Drucken und Kopieren an der Universität Luzern und der ZHB verwendet werden.

Issue of CampusCard for employees
The CampusCard is issued to employees for the duration of their employment. Students who are also employed by the University of Lucerne receive both a student and an employee CampusCard.
Location: Personnel Service counter, room 4.A16, 4th floor
Time: During the opening hours of the personnel service
Validity: The validity of the CampusCard for employees is limited to the end of each calendar year. In the event of continued employment, it can be revalidated at a validation station at the beginning of the year.
Issue of CampusCard for students
The CampusCard is issued to students for the duration of their entire degree programme.
This means that students also keep their CampusCard…
- when changing the field of study
- in the event of a change of study level
- for re-enrolment after a break in studies
- during an approved semester of leave and mobility stay
Location: Counter Study Services, Room 4.A07
Time: During the opening hours of the study services
Validity: In order for the CampusCard to be valid, it must be written (= validated) with the holder's specific data at a validation station. This process takes a few seconds and must be repeated every semester after receiving the confirmation of enrolment.
Validating stations
The devices for validating the card are located on the ground floor and on the first floor of the main building (Frohburgstrasse 3).

Replacement of a CampusCard
If you lose your CampusCard, you can have a new card issued for a processing fee of CHF 30.00.
University sports
The CampusCard is also valid as an ID card for the Lucerne University Sports Campus (HSCL).
Cashless payment
Students and staff can use the CampusCard as a means of payment for printing and copying at Frohburgstrasse and in the Central and University Library at Sempacherstrasse.
Library card
The IDS barcode is printed on the CampusCard. This serves as a ZHB user ID card and must be registered at the ZHB information desk before first use. If you already have a ZHB card, you can add the IDS number of the CampusCard to your existing ZHB account at the ZHB information desk.
Data privacy and security
At present, only the corresponding card number (no matriculation or personal number) and a small amount of technical data are stored in encrypted form on the RFID chip. These are only used to identify the card.
